Unity game development and C# programming
Students complete a two-year course. By the end of the first year, they have a portfolio of short practice projects. The entire second year is devoted to practical work and building a portfolio of professionally developed games that meet industry requirements.
What your child will learn
Program in C# — work with variables, conditions, loops, functions, classes and objects
Create games in Unity from scratch — from an idea and prototype to a complete game project
Develop game mechanics — character movement, controls, object interactions, scoring, levels and save systems
Work with physics, animation and interfaces — set up collisions, cameras, effects, UI, menus and game scenes
Design a game's structure and debug code — find errors, optimise the project and write clear, well-organised code
Create original portfolio projects — independently plan development, test and present a finished game
What your child will create
2D arcade game in Unity
A complete game with controls, physics, enemies and a scoring system.
3D platformer
A project with a character, a third-person camera, levels and collectible items.
Multiplayer prototype
An introduction to networking logic and the fundamentals of multiplayer games.
Final portfolio project
The student's own game, developed to a professional standard.
Course programme
Interface basics
We learn Unity's main tools and create our first animated projects.
Programming fundamentals
We study programming fundamentals, learn to create basic development patterns, and find and fix errors in code.
Project work
We study game mechanics and their logic to prepare for independently developing an original game.
Final project
Create an original game and upload it to PlayMarket and Simmer.IO. The whole process mirrors real development in a game development studio as closely as possible.
Project presentation and defence
Present and defend the project at the RobolabChallenge tournament and receive a grant from the academic sponsor — a university — for a tuition fee reduction of up to 50%.
AI on this course
AI as a game design assistant
The student defines an idea for a game mechanic and evaluates how AI proposes to implement it.
Generating assets and references
We use AI for quick concepts, textures and visual style ideas.
Debugging with AI
We learn to ask precise questions about errors in code and understand the explanations.
No substitute for thinking
The student writes the core mechanics and game architecture independently — AI only speeds up routine tasks.
Who is this course for?
- ✦Dreams of creating their own games and wants to understand how they work behind the scenes
- ✦Has already tried Scratch, Roblox or Python and is ready for a professional tool
- ✦Is interested in programming, maths and logic
- ✦Plans to apply for Game Development, Computer Science or a related IT degree
Is previous experience needed?
No previous experience is required. The course starts with the basics of Unity and C#: the first modules cover the engine interface, basic syntax and simple game mechanics. If the student already has programming experience, we assess their level at the introductory lesson and start with the appropriate module.
Student projects:
Teachers

Magomed Omarov
Founder of a social initiative to develop VR/AR GameDev.

Tasos Stylianou
RoboLab teacher.
