Free programming, robotics, design and game development lessons for children aged 5–19. Advice for parents on all aspects of IT education in Cyprus and beyond.
Give your child the chance to try different subjects before the school year starts and help them choose a course they will enjoy attending.
Choosing a course just by its name or website description is difficult. And the usual first lesson of a year-long programme does not always show children what lies ahead.
Every course starts with learning the basic tools. A child who goes straight to the first lesson sees only the first step — not the whole staircase.
At our Open Days, we teach differently.
It is a course in miniature.
An introductory lesson is specially designed to give your child an overview of the whole subject in a single class:
Children get a fuller picture and can realise: “This really interests me.”
Imagine your child wants to learn to create computer games.
They miss the introductory workshop and go straight to the first lesson of the year-long course. That first lesson focuses on creating a character.
“I thought we would be programming games, but we spent the whole lesson drawing…”
They simply do not yet know that creating a character is one stage of game development.
That is why we show the subject as a whole in an introductory class: so children understand where their first steps lead and what they will be able to create later.
See the goal first — then start the journey.
Choose one or more courses your child would like to try.

Register your child for several workshops and compare their impressions afterwards.
€20 off your first course pass
If your child says “I want to come here!” after the workshop, this is the best time to continue.
Do not put the decision off: choose a suitable group, register your child and turn their enthusiasm into a real next step: you are enrolled, you will be going!
Pay for your first course pass ON THE DAY of the introductory lesson and receive a €20 discount.
Enjoyed it → chose a group → enrolled → start learning
You can also choose a convenient time while places are still available in the groups.
10% for your friend + 10% for you
Invite a friend who does not already study at RoboLab to join the classes.
Starting a new course, discussing tasks and creating projects is more interesting together.
If you continue studying together, each of you will receive a 10% tuition discount throughout the school year until June.
6 simple steps to help your child get the most benefit and enjoyment from a trial lesson.
Check the schedule and register your child for one or more workshops that genuinely interest them and suit their age.
Avoid planning too many other activities on the day of the workshop. Try to ensure your child arrives well rested and in a good mood.
Exploring a new subject takes concentration, so tiredness can have a significant effect on a first impression.
Plan to arrive about 10–15 minutes before the start. This gives you time to find parking, take your child to the classroom without rushing and let them look around and settle into a new place.
After the class, speak to the administrator and teacher. Ask about:
Rather than just asking “Did you like it?”, try asking:
This helps you understand whether the subject genuinely interested your child, while showing them your care and interest.
After a good trial lesson, children often leave thinking: “I want to come here!” Make the most of this moment.
Ask about the regular group timetable, choose a suitable time and enrol your child.
When too much time passes between that first spark of interest and the next class, doubts, other plans and competing activities arise — and the initial motivation gradually fades.
Try different subjects, meet the teachers, explore the programmes and make an informed choice of learning for the year.
