From an idea to your own game in 5 days

01

Idea

Comes up with a game concept, objective and core mechanics. Creates levels and characters.

02

Mechanics and programming

Sets up movement, interactions, events, rules and game logic.

03

Adding complexity

Adding enemies, health packs, shooting and a lives counter.

04

Testing

Finds bugs, adjusts mechanics, balances and improves the game.

05

Finished project

Finishes with their own working 2D game to show others and keep developing.

Your child keeps their project after the intensive course and can refine it, add complexity and continue developing it independently.

[ Why Game Maker? ]

Why Game Maker is a great starting point

01

See results straight away

Your child changes the mechanics or code and immediately sees the result in their game.

02

Keep going independently

After the intensive course, your child can keep working on their project and explore new features of the platform independently.

03

A platform that supports learning

If a developer does not know how to implement a mechanic, they can find guidance, work out how it works and apply the solution to their project — understanding exactly what they are doing.

04

Global Game Jams

These skills allow students to go beyond classroom tasks, create their own projects and try their hand at game jams.

[ Game Jam ]

From your first game to a game jam

A game jam is an event where developers create a game on a set theme within a limited time.

After the intensive course, your child will understand the basic development process and can try game jams, experiment with genres, create new games and gradually build a portfolio.

[ Career ]

A fast introduction to a career in game development

Teenagers do not need to spend a year learning programming first to find out whether game development interests them.

The 5-day intensive course lets them try game development in practice and decide whether they want to pursue it further.

And discover what interests them most
  • —programming
  • —game design
  • —level design
  • —2D/3D art
  • —independent game development

This is a chance to experience being a game developer through your own project, not just in theory.
